Stone Care

Clean, Polish & Seal Your Granite, Marble, Quartz and Other Stone Surfaces

Granite, marble, quartz and other stone materials make for a beautiful kitchen or vanity countertop.  However, keeping your countertops looking great requires care and attention.

Make sure you are protecting your investment by properly caring for your countertops and stone surfaces. Schindler Cleaning offers exceptional stone cleaning, polishing, and sealing services so you can enjoy your beautiful stone surfaces without worry.

The first step to properly caring for your countertops is keeping them clean. Spills should be wiped up immediately, while stained or soiled surfaces should be cleaned as soon as possible with a good stone cleaner.  While these types of stone are very durable, they are relatively porous and susceptible to staining and possibly scratching.

In addition to cleaning, your stone countertops will slowly lose their natural luster and require polishing.  Polishing not only helps keep the natural luster of the stone but also protects them from stains, spills, glass rings, and etching. Our polishing compounds are specially formulated with emollients and carnauba wax to fill in even undetectable imperfections in your countertop’s natural surface, giving it a lasting shine that keeps it looking as good as the day it was installed.

While polishing your stone countertops helps to protect them from stains and spills, the most effective way to protect the stone is by applying a sealer. Most countertops will come sealed already by the manufacturer, but a good sealer will only be effective for approximately 12 months. To keep your stone protected from stains, spills, and scratching a sealer must be reapplied.

Our impregnating sealer features advanced fluoropolymer protect and hybrid carrier technology.  This sealer is VOC compliant, offers excellent water and oil repellent, and provides long-lasting protection.

Not sure if your stone needs to be resealed?  Just do the water test: sprinkle a few drops of water on your countertop and see what happens.  If the water beads up then your sealer is still good, if not it’s time to re-seal.

Stone countertops are more than just a beautiful and functional addition to your home – they are an investment.  Protect your investment by having your stone cleaned, polished, and sealed by a professional at least every 12 months.
